Train Brings Their AM Gold Tour To The MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre With Special Guest Jewel And Blues Travelers

Tampa, Florida(June, 25th 2022)

It’s a gorgeous Saturday evening at Tampa’s MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre and it’s a perfect night for a concert. Tonight, Train in support of their latest album AM Gold has come to town. In keeping with the pop rock theme of the evening, Train has also brought along fellow 90’s stalwarts Blues Travelers and Jewel.

First to take the stage was Blues Travelers. They kicked off their part of the show with “Save His Soul” from the album of the same name. John Popper and company were in fine form and sounded great. But things really took off and the fans really got into things with when they played their biggest hits “Run-around”, “But Anyway” and “Hook”.

Next up was Jewel. In the late nineties she rose to fame as an acoustic singer songwriter on the strength of her versatile soprano voice and her folk rock songs. She started the night with “Standing Still” the lead track off of her fourth album Standing Still. During the night, she played many of her hit songs such as “Foolish Games”, “Hands”, and “You Were Meant For Me”. Throughout the night if there was one thing that was obvious was her voice is truly timeless. She closed out her performance with arguably her biggest hit song “Who Will Save Your Soul”.

With a multi-level set replete with a backdrop of video screens Train would have plenty of room to entertain all their fans. When the band hit the stage they broke into “AM Gold” the first single off of their latest album of the same name. Throughout the song, lead singer Pat Monahan made full use of every inch of the stage. They kicked off “Meet Virginia” with confetti launched out into the audience to everyone’s delight.

During the song Monahan stepped off stage and quickly reappeared wearing a Tampa Bay Lightning jersey in honor of the local NHL teams Stanley Cup playoff run. What he also did was have everyone in the band autograph it, then he pulled it off and tossed it out into the audience for one lucky fan to get. If that wasn’t enough during “If It’s Love” he was grabbing fans cell phones and taking selfies with them and tossing it back to them.

Of course they played hit songs like “Drive By”, “Marry Me”, and “Hey Soul Sister”.  The band also brought Jewel out to join them on a rousing version of “Dancing Queen” and “Turn The Radio Up”. In a fun turn, they featured a cover song that was unexpected, “Dream On” the classic Aerosmith hit song which sounded wonderful. They capped the night off with the single that started their career off “Drops Of Jupiter”

All three artists put on a great show and sounded as good as they ever have. Whether they were playing the hit songs that made them household names or their latest material, it was obvious that everyone in attendance was having a wonderful night. For fans of Jewel, Blues Travelers and Train this tour makes for a fun evening of great music played to perfection.
