GT America Delivers Another Great Weekend Of Racing At Sebring

Sebring, Fl (May 3rd – 5th)

GT America powered by AWS made their yearly stop at Sebring International raceway and George Kurtz made the most of the weekend by dominating the race by winning from pole position.

In the first of two forty minute races Kurtz powered his CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo across the finish line virtually unchallenged to nab his first win since last season’s victory at Road America. The only one that was able to make a race of it was  Jason Daskalos who was also in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. Daskalos came on strong in the latter half of the race to get second place.

SKI Motorsports Johnny O’Connell in a No. 3 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II was dueling Justin Rothberg in GT4 traffic and made the pass when it counted to grab the final spot on the podium.

Alan Grossberg in the No. 102 TPC Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 not only finished seventh overall but he also captured the GT2 class win.

In the GT4 class Curt Swearingin captured pole in his ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. Unfortunately for Swearingin he was unable to hold onto the lead for long as Isaac Sherman in his Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport managed to get the pass in for the lead.

Sherman was able to hold the lead right to the end of the race for the win and to continue on his winning streak. The final spot of the class podium went to Grey Newell in his Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT4

Sunday was a repeat of the previous days race. George Kurtz and his CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo once again dominated the days racing. This time his margin of victory was 1.738 seconds over runner up Johnny O’Connell in his Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

With eight minutes to go in the caution free race O’Connell made the pass over Jason Daskalos in his Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to secure his second spot on the podium. Daskalos though couldn’t hold on to third as he faded on the last lap only to be passed by Justin Rothberg in his No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 who claimed third place. This was also Rothberg’s first series podium.

Once again Isaac Sherman grabbed yet another victory to keep his winning streak alive in the GT4 class in his Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. The rest of the podium was a repeat of race one with Curt Swearingin in his ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in second place and Grey Newell in his Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in third.

Alan Grossberg as the only class entrant in GT2 won the class despite having to finish the race in the pits.
