Clutch + Sevendust + Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown

Detroit, Michigan (October 20, 2018)

First up of the night was Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, from Nashville, TN. I had seen these guys perform before so I was stoked to be able to shoot their show this time around. They are great musicians with great songs and a bluesy rock vibe. The band consists of Tyler Bryant (vocals, guitar), Caleb Crosby (drums), Graham Whitford (guitar), and Noah Denney (bass). They were short a member with Noah Denney not performing that night so to fill his spot for a song they had a very special guest! No other that Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, who just happens to be Graham Whitford’s dad! It was great watching them jam with a legend. They are definitely a band to keep an eye out for, make sure to catch them when they are in your town!

Next up was Sevendust. I have also seen them before and once again they put on a great show, even though it was hard to get some good shots with the lights being almost non existent at times. Consisting of Lajon Witherspoon (lead vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar, vocals), Morgan Rose (drums), John Connolly (guitar, vocals), and Vince Hornsby (bass), every one was having a blast on stage, which always makes the show more fun to watch when everyone constantly on the move and rocking out. Even though they weren’t the headlining band on this run, that didn’t stop them from giving their all and getting everyone pumped for Clutch to take the stage.

Finally Clutch took the stage fro their headlining spot. I hadn’t seen these guys perform yet but everyone was telling me to expect a great show, and they were right! With as much energy as Neal Fallon (vocals) has, running around and getting everyone pumped, the others: Jean-Paul Gaster (drums), Dan Maines (bass), and Tim Sult (guitar), didn’t need to be running around stage to put on a great show, and also made it a bit easier to shoot some photos so that was a plus for me! It was great getting to photograph a band I hadn’t seen before, and I got to experience some great new music along with it! The line up for this tour was incredible and even though the tour was called “Book of Bad Decisions”, they didn’t make any with this line up of bands and obviously everyone who attended made a good decision as well, after all the show was sold out!
