Lorrie Morgan at Little River Casino Resort in Manistee, MI
Manistee, MI (Apr. 20,2024) – The Queen, Lorrie Morgan makes a stop at the northern Michigan casino as her Ruby Anniversary Tour 2024 treks across the country this year entertaining many of her fans along the way.

With a musical career that has spanned her entire lifetime, Morgan is often referred to as the Queen of Country Music, by her fans, friends and family. Her father, George Morgan was a member of the Grand Ole Opry and spent much time at the famed establishment with Lorrie by his side. As a member herself since 1984, Lorrie Morgan is touring the country in 2024 as a celebration of the ruby event. At a number of shows this year, Australian singer/songwriter Jamie O’Neal will be joining the tour to open for Morgan.

Taking their places on stage, O’Neal, is joined this evening by her husband, Rodney Good on acoustic guitar and Libby Weitnauer on fiddle. The threesome gets the show rolling with Jamie’s single “Trying To Find Atlantis” and “Somebody’s Hero,” before a new song “All The Same” from an upcoming album that she will be releasing later this summer. Jamie does a great job getting the show started and the mood flowing before she closes out her short set with her first two number one singles, “There Is No Arizona” and “When I Think About Angels.”

With all the anticipation over now, Lorrie joins her band on stage to the crowd’s delight as they open the show with “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” before moving along with “Watch Me” and “What Part Of No.” With an aura of excitement in the room, Morgan continues by welcoming the crowd and grabbing her guitar, only to realize that she is having some technical difficulties with her in-ears and not being able to hear the band. As her tour manager tries to rectify this, a fan asks to see Lorrie’s shoes, four inch glitter sequins stiletto heels. She lifts her leg up multiple times to give the lady in the crowd numerous attempts for a photo.

Morgan talks about being a member of the Grand Ole Opry for the past 40 years (inducted June 9th, 1984), and invites everyone to make time for a visit. She also shares that during that time in the 80’s, she was touring with the late George Jones as a back-up vocalist in his band. She also expresses how touring with him during her twenty’s was a great learning experience for the business and touring on the road. Lorrie continues singing with “A Picture Of Me (Without You),” and “Five Minutes.”
Next, Lorrie talks of how she can see faces in the crowd, but clearly those in the front row. She points out the man who is chewing bubble gum and blowing impressive bubbles and the lady down on the end of the row that is watching the show through her binoculars. Lorrie looks at her and asks, “are you looking up my nose?” as the crowd burst out in laughter. Then she takes notice to the lady sitting right in front of her at center stage with just her socks on. Morgan announces, “I had to get out of my nice comfy socks to put on these God awful shoes to come out here tonight. I would much rather be in my comfy socks right now.”
Taking a moment to talk to all the ladies in the crowd this evening, Morgan speaks out on getting older and the changes a body goes through. From her experiences and dilemmas, she tells the females not to fight it, but to embrace the finer years in life as there is nothing we can do about it anyway.
While on the topic of experiences, Lorrie mentions her getting a call to collaborate with the legendary The Beach Boys and performing the song, “Don’t Worry Baby” for their Stars And Stripes Vol. 1 album.
Later in 2024, Lorrie Morgan has a new album, Dead Man Walking coming out. She introduces three new songs from the works, “What Will I Do,” “Almost Called Him Baby” including the title track.
Continuing on with the hits, she adds “Except For Monday” and “Ode To Billie Joe” while including the top single “When You Say Nothing At All” by her late husband, Keith Whitley. Morgan concludes her show with the colorful single,” Something In Red” before walking off stage.
After a short break, Lorrie returns back to the stage with her band, The Good Boy Band. The band consists of: Becky Priest (keys and harmony vocals), Dave Dunseath (drums and harmony vocals), Randy Smith (bass guitar and harmony vocals), Morgan Spears (acoustic guitar and harmony vocals) and Todd Woolsey (lead guitar, acoustic guitar, saxophone, harmony vocals and band leader). As they all gather around Lorrie at center stage, they end the evening with the harmonized singing of “Are You Lonesome Tonight.”

The evening includes a bit of laughter, history and music for everyone that attends a Lorrie Morgan show. Unlike many artists who keep distanced from their audience, Lorrie continuously interacts with her crowd throughout the show and makes them all feel special and included. If you want to feel that experience and hear great music from the Queen and her talented musicians, get out and catch a show this year when Lorrie and her Good Boy Band comes to a town near you.
