Girl Named Tom Returns To The Ark In Ann Arbor, MI For Their ‘Return To The Wild’ Acoustic Tour
Ann Arbor, MI (May 13,2025) – On Tuesday evening in downtown Ann Arbor, Girl Named Tom performs in front of a full capacity crowd inside The Ark.

Caleb Liechty (30), Joshua Liechty (27) and Bekah Liechty (24) is the harmonizing sibling trio known as Girl Named Tom. They are winners of season 21 of the American TV talent competition, The Voice. Coached by fellow singing artist, Kelly Clarkston. Girl Named Tom is the first trio to win the competition.
Growing up in Pettisville, OH, the siblings have traveled the 85 miles to Ann Arbor once before to witness a performance at The Ark, hoping to someday be able to perform on the intimate stage. On this evening in May, they finally cross off a bucket list dream of being the entertainment inside the 400-capacity venue.
The ‘Return To The Wild’ acoustic tour is a 10 show schedule throughout the month of May that is made up of only the trio in an acoustic setting with only themselves on stage, with no backing band. The three show off their own musical talents as they are all very talented as multi-instrumentalists. During the performance, Caleb plays guitar and piano. Joshua performs with guitar, piano, harmonica and shakers, while Bekah plays her guitar, piano, flute and shakers.
The evening is set with songs that have become synonymous with Girl Named Tom that includes: “From This Valley,” “Helplessly Hoping,” “Saint Honestly” and “23.” Cover songs have been a big part of the trio’s performance that also helped secure their win in the TV competition. Those songs include: “The Chain” (Fleetwood Mac), “The Architect” (Kacey Musgraves), “Wichita Lineman” (Glen Campbell), “Blowin’ In The Win” (Bob Dylan) and “Dust In The Wind” (Kansas).
After winning The Voice at the conclusion of 2021, Girl Named Tom was unable to release new music the way they had wanted. At the start of 2025, the trio have resolved that hardship and have begun to release new music, including the show opener “Locked In Your Love,” from March 14th. Other new releases include the newest from earlier in May, “Waters,” “Lucky One,” “Only When I Am Dead” and “Over The Mountains.”
As songwriters themselves, some of the new music is more personable than others. Caleb, married his wife 18 months ago and wrote a fun-loving song about it called, “Changing Game.” Afterwards, Bekah thanks the crowd for buying a ticket to the show and coming to see them. She also speaks of merchandise in the back of the venue that their mom, Holly is selling. Bekah continues by saying, “when you buy a ticket to the show, it brings us to you. When you buy merch, it brings more music to you, as merch sales go to our recording studio fees.”
Caleb, Joshua and Bekah lost their dad just one month after winning The Voice from an illness. “We lost our dad too early; we are grateful for the time we had but miss him every day. So, if you are missing someone, maybe this will help you. This is for our dad.” The song is “Wish You Were Here.”
Starting the band in 2019, it began with just the three of them. They took off in their parent’s minivan, traveling the countryside. They left with tents, guitars, sound equipment, cooler/fridge and went around playing shows and singing their songs. Then The Voice found them, and they competed and won that competition. Since then, they have traveled with a full band in a bus. The trio have enjoyed getting back to their origins of being just the three siblings doing an acoustic show. The full band shows will continue on, after taking a break to rejuvenate what Girl Named Tom is truly about. Pure songs written and performed in the way to be heartfelt.
The Ann Arbor show is a mixture of familiar faces from family and friends of years passed and first-time viewers of Girl Named Tom. At the end of the performance, there were no strangers as the whole venue stood for a standing ovation for the performance that had just occurred at inside the World-famous venue, The Ark. After the show had ended, most in attendance stood in line to purchase merchandise, meet and capture a photograph with the trio.
