Ray LaMontagne to Release Seventh Studio Album Part of the Light on May 18th and Announces 2018 Part of the Light Summer Tour Dates with Special Guest Neko Case

New York, NY (March 1, 2018) – Grammy Award winner Ray LaMontagne is set to release his seventh studio album, Part Of The Light on May 18th via RCA Records.  The album was written and produced by Ray LaMontagne and will feature the first single, “Such A Simple Thing.” Fans that pre-order the album through Ray’s website will be able to stream a live version of the song before its release.

In addition, LaMontagne announces his 2018 Part Of The Light Summer Tour.  The 31-date tour will start at Sasquatch in George, Washington on May 27th and end on July 10th in Denver, CO. Joining LaMontagne on the road will be very special guest Neko Case.  Starting today at 2:00 PM ET through Sunday, March 4th 10:00 PM local time, fans who pre-order the new album on Ray’s website will be given a code on Monday, March 5th to purchase tickets to the tour early.  Tickets to the general public will be available starting Friday, March 9th 10:00 AM local time at www.raylamontagne.com, LiveNation.com or the Live Nation App.

Ray LaMontagne has released 6 studio albums, 5 of which have reached Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and Billboard’s Digital Albums chart.  Additionally, his 2010 album God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise won the Grammy for Best Folk Album and was nominated in the coveted Song of The Year category for “Beg Steal or Borrow.”

Each release from his catalogue over the last 13 years carries its own character and feel. Having worked with producers Ethan Johns, Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Ray’s vast sonic catalogue has been called everything from “a perfect throwback to the lost art of the album-length format,” from Entertainment Weekly to “epic and magical,” from Rolling Stone and “gorgeous and ambitious,” from Esquire.  NPR’s All Things Considered said that Ray throughout the course of his career “has continued to push himself in different directions,” while People called Ray a “marvel of nature.”

If you don’t know me in person, you’d be shocked to see that I am over 6’ tall

I work: I own Splice Media Group

I enjoy: photography!

Goals/Dreams: To be the next Rolling Stone!

Niche:
Tell us about your style, and what you contribute to Splice that makes you unique
My photography style is candid. I don’t necessarily like to pose people; I much prefer the raw beauty that I can capture when the subject isn’t paying any attention to me.

Splice (Bucket) List: Adele, Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Guns n Roses, Kiss, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Def Leppard, Journey, Foreigner (again), Bob Seger, Ann Wilson (again), James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Montgomery [Gentry], Little Big Town, Kid Rock, Zac Brown Band, Greta Van Fleet, Ozzy Osbourne …. I could go on all day!

Guilty Pleasures: The Oak Ridge Boys, Statler Brothers, Jimmy Fortune, Cristy Lane, Couponing, Dr. Phil, Smoked oysters, Steak with Blue Cheese Crumbles, Chewy Brownies …

If you could photograph any concert in history, what would it be? Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty

My favorite TV show is: This is Us

Favorite food: Steak

My dream car is: Cherry Red Jeep Wrangler

An interesting fact about me that people don’t expect is: If you don’t know me in person, you’d be shocked to see that I am over 6’ tall. I have Bell’s Palsy.

When you’re not photographing great concerts, writing about them, interviewing artists, doing album reviews… what can we find you doing? Spending time with friends and family. Flying my stunt kite. Doing something crafty. Enjoying the outdoors.
