DEARBORN, Mich. (December 17, 2017) – Touring together for the first time, country music icons, Phil Vassar and Kellie Pickler, brought their Christmas Tour to the beautiful Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, MI, just a short 15-minute drive from downtown Detroit. In honor of the tour, the pair released a new single, “The Naughty List”, which was a showstopper tonight. “Woah-o, Woah-o, I love your peppermint lips, when I sip pink champagne”… such a fun way to kick off the night!
Vassar has completed a Christmas tour every year since 2009. He established himself as a holiday favorite in 2011 with the release of his first Christmas album, “Noel”. Kellie performed her sultry rendition of “Santa Baby” at the 2007 CMA Country Christmas and it quickly became a Christmas classic. Pickler has released other compelling holiday singles such as “My Christmas Caroline” in 2015 and a special version of “White Christmas”, released in 2016. All three of these great holiday tunes were performed at tonight’s magical concert.
Kellie and Phil opened the concert together for a handful of songs, then Kellie alone for a few. Then Phil took her spot on stage, and then back together to commence the evening. It was a real treat to capture the dynamics of the two, and wonderful to see each in their own element. We got a taste of each artist’s favorites like Phil’s “Just Another Day in Paradise” and Kellie’s “If It Wasn’t for a Woman”.
Tonight, Phil and Kellie did not fail to bring holiday cheer and amazing country music with their excellent combination of unique voices and undeniable talent. If you ever get a chance to see either artist – jump on it! Together – they’re even better than imagined!
