Logic + J.I.D + YBN Cordae

Rosemont, Illinois (November 15, 2019)- Tonight, Logic took over Allstate Areana in Rosemont, IL for the final show of the Confessions of a Dangerous Mind Tour. Supporting him tonight was YBN Cordae and J.I.D for a nearly sold out show that will not be forgotten!

After waiting in the cold for hours, it was time for the doors to open and and the fans begin to flow into the Arena. First up to take center stage, YBN Cordae. The 22 year-old rapper, also known as Cordae Dunston from Maryland, brought the heat and did his job right. As he took his first step out to the stage the entire crowd rose. After performing his first song while maintaining the cool guy status by wearing a coat and sunglasses, he broke free for the rest of the set and gave the crowd what they wanted, energy and entertainment. To give the crowd the credit they deserve, they crushed every beat with the rapper making the show that much more enjoyable. He included some of his biggest hits into his set such as his 2018 single, “Kung Fu”, and “Have Mercy” from his album, The Lost Boy, released in July, 2019.

Next up taking the stage, J.I.D. Once he took over, words could not describe the excitement flowing through the crowd. His energetic stage presence and his crazy lyrical flow was exactly what the crowd needed to continue through the night. He walked with confidence back and forth across the stage and was certain to interact with fans throughout his set. You could tell from the moment he stepped on stage that he was born to be a natural performer. He captured the attention of the crowd effortlessly for so long and left everyone wanting more. His setlist was one that did not disappoint any fan! He made sure to play his 2017 catchy hit, “NEVER” where the crowd was more than happy to scream the lyrics back without failure. He also included a couple from his 2018 album, DiCaprio 2, including “Off Deez” with J. Cole and “151 Rum” with a beat that will be on repeat in your mind for days.

The moment has come and Logic has taken the show into his own hands. The rapper, also known Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, but more common as Logic, is no stranger with a mic. He has been in the know since 2014 with his album Under Pressure, but in 2017 his career took off with his hit song “1-800-273-8255”, featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, about suicide prevention. By the time he walked onto the stage, the crowd was beaming with excitement but not ready for the performance to come. He immediately connected with the crowd from his wild energy radiating positive vibes to every person in attendance. From the moment he stepped on to the moment he stepped off, he made sure to make the room feel like they were a family rather than strangers. Over the course of the night, he brought out some special guests. To start, he brought out the 21 year-old rapper Silas where they sang Silas’ song “These Days” together, completely blowing the crowd away. He also brought back out YBN Cordae to sing their song “Mama/ Show Love” off his most recent album, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. After witnessing this live, you wouldn’t think things could get better, but then in the middle of his 2 hour set, Logics DJ, Rhetorik, took over to sing his song “Stranglehold”. This was the moment the crowd lost all composure they previously had. With arms swinging back and forth and dedicated fans screaming the words right back at him while jumping up and down, it was something out of a movie to watch. Throughout his set, he made sure to include music from all stages in his career. From spitting the words to “Under Pressure” his 2014 hit with the entire crowd in sync, to belting out the lyrics of “Time Machine” from his 2019 soundtrack, Supermarket, going with his New York best selling novel Supermarket for two weeks in a row. Once he hit 25 songs, the crowd still wanted more, so he proceeded with the show. He came back to end the night with the viral hit “1-800-273-8255” (featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid) from his 2017 album, Everybody. This was the moment where the flashlights went up and began gliding back and forth through the arena with tears in the eyes of people across the room. Finally, he closed the night with a fan favorite, “Everyday” featuring Marshmello from his 2018 album, Bobby Tarantino II.  where he brought out the entire crew to celebrate the end of tour. Tonight was a special show for a couple of reasons, one being that this is the last show of his Confessions of a Dangerous Mind tour, but also this being the last show before he takes time off with his wife and soon to be son.

Overall, the show exceeded every exception I had coming in. Looking over the sea of people packed into the room, it ranged from children to grandparents, but no matter the age, they all enjoyed the performance the same. With an astonishing set production, the lights and visuals put the crowd in a trance, and by the end of the night, not a single soul left feeling defeated, but rather empowered to spread peace, love, and positivity.
