O.A.R @ Fillmore Charlotte, Charlotte, NC for John’s Toast – 10/23/17

These images show some of the good guys of rock & roll at work. Marc Roberge (singer/guitarist), Richard On – lead guitarist and Chris Culos (drummer) from O.A.R. recently performed an intimate acoustic benefit concert at the Fillmore Charlotte for John’s Toast.
What’s really cool is that they worked the date into their fall #stOARies Tour. On what would have otherwise been a day off, these gentlemen turned in a high energy performance to help raise money for innovative mental health services, particularly as they relate to suicide awareness and prevention. John’s Toast is the brainchild of Mr. Chris Madigan from New York City. The event is held in memory of his late brother. It was a real privilege for #StageFrontStudios to contribute in a small way to the evening’s success.
Learn more about John’s Toast –
John’s Toast“Ten years is a long time but in this case, it seems like yesterday. It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since we lost my brother John. Every year, and day really, we laugh and smile when thinking about him.
We started the annual toast as a way for our immediate family to be together while we were spread across New York City, Ashburn, Va. and Charlotte. Now, every October 25th, we receive photos of Toasts happening from Ireland, Germany, Hawaii, Australia, Italy, Paris, Finland, Canada and Mexico. And I’m not even counting those of us here in the States.
The Toast to me is a moment in time that reflects what John did best. For one moment, we share with the world a moment of peace. A moment of reflection. A brief moment when nothing else in the world matters more than what is happening in the present. A moment, although blurred through tears, is still beautiful.
We’ve shared red solo cups, champagne flutes, rocks glasses and juice boxes. We’ve toasted from bars, classrooms, gymnasiums, dorm rooms, football stadiums and back porches.
So tonight, we humbly ask you to join our family as we toast not only our son and brother John, but also your friendship, love and laughter. We toast your friends and family that you might have lost. And we also toast you.
Thanks to O.A.R. for this year’s song that we adopted for the Toast. Pretty sure I couldn’t have come up with anything better than this…
“Telling stories, making toasts
You know I’m gonna miss you most
Time will bring you back to me
Like we never skipped, skipped a beat
Singing, hey, don’t say goodbye, just say goodnight
And we’ll pick up where we left off
We’ll say hello and welcome home
And we’ll pick up where we left off”
John was the brother everyone wanted, the best uncle in the world, a son to be proud of and a loyal and true friend. John’s smile and kind heart warmed everyone he met. He was brilliant and fun…and he’s missed more and more every day.
We’ll Pick Up Where We Left Off.
Cheers everyone, we’ll see you all at 8 p.m. tonight from wherever you might be.
To Life, Love and Laughs!
