Devoted, excited fans braved the chilly 50° night full of anticipation of a great show with three talented acts: Locash, Joey Vee and Audrey Ray. The three bands performed tonight at the Emerald Theatre in Mount Clemens, Michigan after a late afternoon of fun at the pre-party at Bath City Bistro, just down the street.
The stunning Audrey Ray started off the night. The acoustics at the Emerald Theater were well done and complimented her music very well. Audrey (lead vox/acoustic guitar) and her band, John Massey (bass/vox), Ken Kudsin (drums), Tommy Furbacher (lead guitar) and Michael Martin (rhythm guitar/ keys/ harmonica/ vox) performed some of their original songs including her current single “Back Road Memories.” The crowd seemed very receptive to her style with loud, enthusiastic cheering and dancing. Audrey gave a great performance to warm up the crowd for the second opening act, Joey Vee.
After a brief intermission for stage changing, Joey Vee took over the attention of the concert-goers with awe-inspiring enthusiasm! Joey is well-known for his patriotic beliefs and in usual fashion – he started his performance that night with the National Anthem. With an American flag in hand he asked everyone to honor Veterans and fallen soldiers but placing their hands over their hearts and removing their hats.
Joey Vee’s energetic five-man band aimed to please the audience, and capture their hearts; he did not disappoint.
After another brief set change the long-anticipated Locash took to the stage! Locash, the acclaimed band of brothers – Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, really know how to put on a show you are not soon to forget. Preston and Chris were completely in tune with the audience; they sang with great passion. They warmed us up with songs from their new album “The Fighters”, including “Ain’t Startin’ Tonight”, “All Day” and “Drunk Drunk”. They eloquently honored and remembered the late Tom Petty with a cover of “I Won’t Back Down”. They performed several other covers that made fans sing along; such as “Friends in Low Places” and …………………..
While they were performing “Neon Moon” Preston jumped off of the stage and took selfies with the crowd and shared the microphone with the fans!
