Windsor, Ontario (December 9, 2017) – Evanescence’s Synthesis Live Tour launched October 14, 2017, and made a tour stop at the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor, Canada. GRAMMY® Award-Winning rock band Evanescence gave a soulful and resonating performance of “Synthesis Live“. The group is promoting their fourth studio album, “Synthesis” that was released November 10, 2017.
Evanescence’s lead singer, Amy Lee, graced the stage with a dramatic floor-length black and red gown, with plunging neckline, her long hair flowing. She alternated between sitting to play the piano and standing stage center to sing with pure, heartfelt passion. The set contained many fan favorites reimaged such as “Bring Me to Life”, “My Heart is Broken”, “My Immortal” and “Lithium”.
Accompanied by a full orchestra and electronics, Amy not only embodied her legendary rock singer status, with her incredible distinct voice and deep soulful lyrics, but I felt like I was witnessing an operatic leading lady. The breathtaking beauty of the venue, the theatrical lighting and the accompaniment of the incredibly talented band and orchestra, added to the overall feeling that you were partaking in something truly magical!
Observing the crowd you see many fans who were moved, some even to tears. Several audience members shouting out, “We love you, Amy!” Seeing the love of her adoring fans, the connection of the band members and witnessing Amy caught up in her deliverance of her beautiful and moving lyrics – you couldn’t help but leave with a deep reverence and appreciation for the pure talent, the spine-tingling and haunting performance. “Synthesis Live” featured a “reimagining of some of Evanescence’s best-loved songs with the spotlight on a full orchestra”, which is arranged and composed by David Campbell. Between the orchestra, the electronic sounds, the band and Amy Lee’s virtuoso piano and voice – this performance was nothing short of jaw-dropping.
Amy Lee says – “This is a total passion project for me. There are so many layers in our music, underneath the huge drums and guitars,” explains Amy Lee of Evanescence. “I’ve always wanted to shine a light on some of the gorgeous David Campbell arrangements and programming elements in our songs, and that idea snowballed into completely re-doing them with full orchestra, not just strings, elaborate programming, and experimentation. This will be our first time touring with an orchestra and I’m so excited to perform this way-really focus on the vocals, and the emotion and the story we’ve built over the years. I’m also really excited about the new material on the album. Besides the two new songs, there are some really beautiful instrumental in-between moments. The whole thing flows like a big, dynamic soundtrack.”
