Sirius XM Octane Channel Accelerator Tour Featuring Ice Nine Kills, Fit For A King, Light The Tourch And Awake At Last Comes To Tampa FL.

Tampa, Florida (November, 17 2019) – Sirius XM Octane channel has been known for supporting up and coming bands. Besides introducing their listeners to many new bands, they also help to put together a package tour of some these bands and call it the Accelerator Tour. This fall they put together three hot up and coming bands in Awake At Last, Light The Torch and Fit For A King, and a breakout star in Ice Nine Kills. With these four groups in one venue at the same time, it’s no wonder that this has quickly been a hot ticket and selling out everywhere.

The sold out crowd packed quickly into The Ritz Ybor so they could get prime spots at this standing room only venue. The lucky ones right at the front got the best spots to see the first band Awake At Last. On the strength of their debut album The Change, which hit number two on the Billboard Heatseakers chart, and the first single “The Change” which hit number one on Sirius XM’s Octane channel, these guys are a natural fit for this tour. They chose “Purgatorium” to kick off their portion of the show. As they are a relatively new band, the crowd wasn’t too familiar with them. But that didn’t stop everyone from rocking out! During their performance of “More Than Animals”, singer Vincent Torres hopped off the stage, went right to the rail, and was singing face to face with the crowd. Talk about a sure fire way to connect with the everyone and make new fans! Their high energy set was an obvious hit with everyone there. They closed out their seven song set with their hit song “The Change”. As this song has been getting a lot of attention, naturally this one got the most love from the everyone and had people singing along and cheering.

The next band to take the stage was Light The Torch. This was a group that a lot of people were excited to see as there was a buzz going through the crowd. Of course, a big chunk of the reason people wanted to see them is the singer is none other than Howard Jones formerly of Killswitch Engage. Of course, the second they hit the stage everyone was cheering wildly. Bathed in a sea of red lights they launched into “The Bitter End” off of their album Revival. From the very first note, every person in the place was cheering wildly. On stage, Howard Jones is a beast. From his high energy performance, to his powerful vocals he commands everyone’s full and complete attention. During breaks in between songs, the cheering was so loud that Jones would look out in awe. He was at a complete for words and let everyone know, at times saying, “Wow I got nothing”. Clearly, he appreciated how the night was going down. The rest of the band sounded great throughout their eight song set. Of course, they played their hit single “The Safety Of Disbelief” which had the fans singing along word for word.

Christian metalcore outfit Fit For A King was next up. This Texas based band has built a reputation for an exciting live show and tonight would only further cement that reputation. Barely seconds after launching into “Engraved” bassist Ryan O’Leary unleashed a huge jump, which would be the first of many during their performance. Singer Ryan Kirby sounded great! With strobe lights going off, Kirby’s hair flying, O’Leary spinning while playing his bass, and guitarist Bobby Lynge delivering crushing licks, this set the tone for their show. By now the entire venue was wall to wall people and the crowd was completely into their performance. Everywhere you looked all you could see was heads banging, fist pumps in the air, and cell phones trying to record their set. Seven of their ten song setlist came from their latest release Dark Skies. One of the highlights of their show, and definitely one fans will remember for a long time to come is when Ryan O’Leary decided to take a trip out into the audience by crowd surfing.

Now it was time for one of the hottest bands of the year Ice Nine Kills to entertain all their rabid fans in the audience. On the strength of their breakout album The Silver Scream, they have had a year other bands would kill for, pun intended. Between the clever well written songs on their latest album, and their over the top stage shows they have quickly developed into a must see show. Dressed in a jumpsuit and a hockey mask while brandishing a fake machete, lead singer Spencer Charnas was channeling his best Jayson Vorhees as they kicked off the night with “Thank God It’s Friday”. It goes without saying that everyone sounded great. Guitarists Dan Sugarman and Ricky Armellino were all smiles at looking at the capacity crowd going crazy over them. Of course, the packed house loved the theatrics of Charnas. What’s not to love about a lead singer running around with a machete? When they ripped into their latest hit single “SAVAGES”, the crowd surfing went into high gear. Everywhere you looked there was a sea of bodies floating on top of the crowd. Of course, the theatricality continued as Charnas was now holding a chainsaw like the main tool of mayhem from the horror movie this song is based on. One of the great sing a long moments came from another of their hit singles “A Grave Mistake”. Passerby’s outside the venue could probably hear the crowd singing “You can’t save yourself or save your soul”. As Ice Nine Kills has created their own genre in horror core, if there is one song that they could do a great job in covering is the Michael Jackson hit “Thriller”. While the album The Silver Scream has been a major hit of theirs, Ice Nine Kills didn’t ignore their earlier catalog tonight. They also played “Tess-timony” and “Me, Myself & Hyde” from their fourth album Every Trick In The Book, an album based on classic works of literature. As the show continued things got more raucous. Mosh pits developed, the crowd surfing continued, and all this energy wasn’t lost on the band. Guitarist Dan Sugarman walked over to one side of the stage got up on the stacked speaker cabinets, spun around and fell into the crowd guitar and all. After crowd surfing his way back to the stage, He went to the other side of the stage and did it again! If you thought that was the last of the band members to go into the audience, you would be wrong. Spencer Charnas hopped off stage climbed on the barrier and launched himself into the crowd. For the encore, they played “IT Is The End” with Spencer Charnas decked out in a full Pennywise clown costume, which was a huge hit with the audience.
Sirius XM’s Octane channel did a phenomenal job with this accelerator tour. With these four bands sharing one stage, every fan in attendance got more than their moneys worth. From getting to see three bands on the rise in Awake At Last, Light The Torch, and Fit For A King and one band in Ice Nine Kills that has a burgeoning reputation for an incendiary and highly entertaining stage show, this was one concert that that exceeded all expectations.
