19-year-old singer/songwriter, Dominic Harrison, (Yungblud) hailing from Yorkshire, England, captivated the audience with his eclectic of fusion of indie, punk, pop, and rock as he opened for K. Flay. His 8-song set included tracks from Yungblud – EP, which was just released by Interscope-Geffen on January 19, 2018. The animated Yungblud jumped all over the stage and even spat on it while performing “21st Century Liability”, “I Love You, Will You Marry Me”, “King Charles”, “Anarchist”, “Polygraph Eyes”, “Loner”, “Casual Sabotage”, and “Tin Pan Boy” before turning the stage over to K. Flay.

After Yungblud’s spirited performance, the headliner of the night, K.Flay, (Kristine Flaherty) took to the stage. Her hard-to-define sound is influenced by hip-hop, indie rock, and electronic music was profound, powerful and raw, especially noticed when she succumbed to her knees for a spell.

K. Flay started the intense 18-song set off with “Make Me Fade” which charted Billboard’s Top 200 albums and peaked at number 2 on Billboard’s Heatseaker Chart, Life As a Dog. She followed that powerful opening with three songs from her Grammy Awards-nominated sophomore album, 2017’s Every Where is Some Where– “Giver”, “Black Wave”, and “Dreamers”, before moving back to 2014’s “Can’t Sleep” and “Wishing It Was You”.

She delivered five more tracks from Every Where is Some Where – “Champagne”, “Mean It”, “Hollywood Forever”, Grammy-nominated single, “Blood in the Cut”, and “High Enough”. To shake things up a bit, she captivated us with a few covers, “It’s Strange” (Louis the Child cover) (2015) – It’s Strange (feat. K. Flay), “Favorite Color is Blue” – (Robert DeLong cover) – Favorite Color is Blue (feat. K. Flay) (2018), and “Flagpole Sitta” (Harvey Danger cover) (1997).

She took us all back to 2013 with the unique “The Cops” from What If It Is – EP and put us in a hypnotic trance with last year’s explicit-laden single, “FML”. She wrapped up the night with a two-song encore of “So Fast, So Maybe” – K. Flay – EP (2010) and  “Slow March” from the album that she is on tour promoting – Every Where is Some Where.
