Crown The Empire bring Their The Fallout 10 Year Anniversary Tour To Jannus Live.

St. Petersburg, FL.(June 29th, 2022)

It’s been ten years since Crown The Empire released their very first full length album The Fallout. Since then this metalcore outfit has released multiple albums to the delight of their fans. With this year being the anniversary of The Fallout, the band decided to hit the road in honor of it and play it in it’s entirety as well as select other songs from their career for all their fans. Joining them on tour is D.R.U.G.S, The Word Alive and Until I Wake. While show was scheduled to be played at The Orpheum, unfortunately the venue had recently relocated and wasn’t ready to handle shows. Instead of cancelling the stop they were able to relocate the show to Jannus Live just a short ways away in St. Petersburg.

Under uncertain skies in the courtyard that is Jannus Live in downtown Saint Petersburg Florida, the crowd was packing it in for a great night of metalcore music provided by all the bands on the bill as well as getting to see Crown The Empire play their Fallout in its entirety. The band to kick the night off was Until I Wake. This band is relatively new to the scene, having been formed back in 2019. From the minute they took to the stage, they looked like they were born for this. They had tons of energy, connected with the audience really well, and most importantly they sounded great. The best indicator how they were doing was the audience. They were really into the band and cell phones were up recording the action.

Next up was a crowd favorite The Word Alive. With a reputation for a high energy show that has been built over the last ten years the audience knew what they were in for and couldn’t wait. As soon as the band hit the stage the cheering started as they launched into their first song “Misery”.  Throughout their seven song set singer Tyler Smith was in constant motion and sounded great while doing it. As the band started in on their final song of the night “Why Am I Like This” the ominous skies that were over the open air venue started to sprinkle, thankfully the band was able to finish the song without having to worry about the weather.

D.R.UG.S.  which stands for Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows started out hot back in 2010. But they broke up a short couple years later.  Recently they have reformed and have also put out their second album Destroy Rebuild. So when they hit the stage everyone was wondering how they would be. While they were walking out, the skies opened up and it started to pour. The weather didn’t stop them for a second and they kicked things off with “The Only Thing You Talk About”.  The band sounded great and if anything the rain added a fun element to their seven song performance.

As the crews were doing the changeover between bands, a large back drop was unfurled and on it was Crown The Empire’s album cover for The Fallout.  As everyone knew it was finally time for Crown The Empire to entertain their fans. Just as the rain started for the previous band, just as the guys in Crown The Empire hit the stage the rain stopped. From the second they started with “The Fallout” the title song of the album the band was straight fire. With multicolor lights firing off and lead singer Andy Leo all over the stage not only did they sound great, but it was a fun show to watch as well. Without question the fans was really into it and crowd surfing along with mosh pits formed almost instantly.

While this tour is a celebration of the bands first album, instead of playing it straight through they decided to mix things up and intersperse songs from their other albums as well. Which was a great way of keeping all their fans on their toes. Over the course of the sixteen songs they played of course they included the hit “Blurry (out Of Place)”. After the band played “Makeshift Chemistry”, they took a quick break to fans chanting for them to come back out, which of course they did. They ended the night with a two song encore made up of “Oh Catastrophe” and “Johnny’s Revenge”

This was definitely a fun night of music. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, it didn’t put a damper on the night and just added to the fun.  All the bands were on point and the crowd showed their appreciation. Without question it was great to see Crown the Empire perform the album that put them on the map.
