Roxodus Music Festival Cancelled Due to Rainy Weather

Provincial police are reportedly investigating the company behind the now-cancelled Roxodus Festival.

The four-day rock fest was set for July 11-14 at Edenvale Airport, two hours north of Toronto, featuring headliners Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock, and Nickelback.

Calls to the OPP weren’t returned by press time, but media reports suggest MF Live Inc., run by Mike Dunphy and Fab Loranger, was under investigation following a complaint last week weren’t elaborating if it’s related to the cancellation.

Clearview Township Mayor Doug Measures drove by the site Saturday check on set-up progress and was surprised to see no such activity at the site.

“That was a red flag to me, knowing the amount of work you need to put the whole thing together,” said Measures, who has a background in technical production.

He eventually spoke to Loranger on Tuesday but made no mention of cancelling — but said organizers were looking into moving the event to Burl’s Creek in Oro-Medonte.

“Obviously, it didn’t work out,” Measures said.

Early Wednesday morning, Loranger called Measures to say Roxodus was cancelled.

“Tremendous rainy weather that has impacted our ability to produce the festival,” wrote Loranger in a press release, promising refund information would soon follow.
